House Hunting Spanish Pyrenees

We are well located in the heart of Alto-Aragón; enabling you to co-ordinate your property search/viewings across a diverse area, yet within a day’s trip from here. Jaca in the west of the region is 1 hr 15 mins by car, Benasque in the east is just over an hour and the historic town of Alquezar on the edge of Sierra de Guara is 1 hr 20. In between, there are three national parks, four Spanish ski resorts and a host of pretty towns and villages to explore.

Take advantage of lessons we have learned whilst renovating Casa Lascorz including local suppliers and materials, costs and timescales. Although we had experience of renovating old properties in the UK, we found that much of the conventional wisdom simply didn’t apply here; leading to false expectations in terms of timescales, project management and costings.

Having walked a similar path recently (two years searching for, and two years renovating our house), we understand many of the challenges faced by prospective property hunters: language; finding properties from overseas; liaising with local agents, architects or other suppliers; maximising precious holiday time with focused activity and viewings; understanding potential pitfalls and/or simply navigating the systems involved with purchasing a property here.
